Paul Washer - Teaching On The Deity Of Christ

Below is a short video series of Paul Washer, founder of Heart Cry Missionary Society, teaching a group of men entering into the ministry about the deity of Christ. A very good study. Enjoy.

Good Friday

It is truly amazing what Jesus went through for us. That He would leave His throne and humble Himself and come down here to earth, live a perfect life in our place, something we could never do, fulfilling the law of God and then take upon Himself, willingly the incredible torture of wicked humanity and then the very wrath of God the Father upon the cross. All meant for us yet all placed upon Jesus. How can anyone say no to so great a salvation.

For our sake He made Him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. 2Corinthians 5:21

"He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief;
and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken,
smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned—every one—to his own way; and the Lord has laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth; like a lamb that is led to the slaughter, and like a sheep that before its shearers is silent, so he opened not his mouth.
Isaiah 53:3-7

I gave my back to those who strike, and my cheeks to those who pull out the beard;
I hid not my face from disgrace and spitting.
Isaiah 50:6

All this was predicted about Christ hundreds of years before it even happened.

Below I've included a few videos of the beatings He took for us as well as being nailed to the cross. These video's are from the Passion of the Christ so they are very graphic. And as horrible as these videos portray Christ's beatings, Scripture tells us, (predicted), that He was beaten beyond recognition.

As many were astonished at you — his appearance was so marred, beyond human semblance, and his form beyond that of the children of mankind. Isaiah 52:14

WARNING: These scenes are from the movie "Passion of the Christ" and are very graphic. Please use discernment with young children.

Even as He's being nailed to the cross, Jesus cries out for the Father to forgive them. How much more should we forgive those who persecute us.

Isn't it awesome to know that in the end the enemy has been defeated. Jesus our Lord, has the last laugh. Tomorrow's post will be much more glorious. For HE IS RISEN!!

God bless
